Our contemporary lives in this modern era are rather demanding, and sometimes it seems like sleeping less is the only possible solution. So many of us have endless to-do lists, and cutting back and finding time to relax and just chill can seem almost impossible. It may seem simple to just say, “Yeah, I need to sleep 8 hours,” but who can really justify wasting away so much of their life laying dormant when they could be taking part in more exciting activity. If you want to know the truth, it’s this: we can’t afford not to adequately sleep despite these complaints.

Sleep is comprised of a number of specific stages and part that rejuvanate yourbody and soul. Sleeping less will have negative effects on how you feel, how much energy you have, how productive you are, and you well you deal with stress. If you want to be at your optimal level at all times of the day, and also stay healthy and active, you’ll begin to realize that to sleep well is a necessary thing and not just a luxury. You should try to figure out what is happening as you sleep, and then from there figure out what your night by night sleep requirements really are. Then, you can adjust and recover from a crippling loss of sleep and get back to a normal and health-conscious sleep schedule.

Sleep can be a very pewerful thing. A lot of us would love to just sleep as little as possible, but doing so will catch up with us sooner or later. Life seems so much more fasicinating than simply ensuring we sleep a few more hours. However, realize that just like we take care of our bodies by working out and eating right, think nutrition and exercise, and how they are absolute requirements to having the best possible health and hapiness you can, so to is the quality and quantity of your sleep. The amount of sleep you have, believe it or not, actually is in direct corelation to how well you fell when you are awake and active during the day. If you want to know how much sleep do you need, the answer is just enough — so don’t cut yourself short. How sharp you are mentally, how productive you are, even the balance of your emotions and how creative you are all are effected. That’s why it’s important you take it seriousl! Nothing else in your life has such an impact with such minimal input from you.

For instance, if you are having problems with weight loss, not sleeping enough or sleeping to little will to the detriment of your fitness plan. But before you make the connection of sleep to weight loss, you should have a basic understanding of sleep. Sleep is not just a time and place for you to collapse and just stop working. In fact, while you are in this special unconscious state, your brain is still working and completing a number of biological tasks that will keep you in tip top condition — think if it like oil for an engine which needs to be constantly changed. You won’t be living up to your true potential during the day if the “oil in your engine” wasn’t changed at night. If you don’t take care of this “service change” then you are headed for mental and physical disaster and collapse.

Luckily, you do not have to make the choice between being healthy and being productive. As you start to get used to ensuring you get the sleep you need, your efficiency will increase and you’ll find that even though you are awake less, your extra productivity more than makes up for the less when tracking the amount of work and tasks that actually get completed and get done. It might not even be surprising to find that you are getting substantially more done now than you even were before.
